I was recently a volunteer helping out with turtle research on Lady Musgrave Island, which is on the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef of Australia. We were tagging Green and Loggerhead Turtle females after they had laid their eggs on the beach. The tags help keep track of where and when the females come back to lay in the following years. This was an amazing experience and just goes to show how little we know about these amazing creatures.
