WWNAG Members Invited to Spanish Conservation Project

Two members of the WWNAG, Andrea Rich and Dag Peterson, have been invited to participate with Artists for Nature Foundation (ANF) on their newest project in Spain. The project will be in support of the conservation of the Pyrenees Mature Forests and is being hosted by the 'Territori i Paisatge' foundation. Twenty one artists from eleven countries will meet in the Pyrenees in May and July of 2001 to create artworks on site which will be collected and produced as a book and traveling show to draw attention to the need for nature conservation as an essential element of sustainable development.

Andrea, with her popular woodblock prints, will be the only USA artist involved in this project and is really looking forward to participating. It will be Andrea's third opportunity to work with Artists for Nature having participated in the Cooper River Delta and Loire River projects previously.

Dag Peterson, from Sweden, who is well known for his wildlife art in many different media, will be the only Scandinavian artist to join the group.

The ANF is a voluntary body with its secretariat in Bruinehaar, the Netherlands and is supported by over 100 artistsfrom more than 20 countries.
