Travel and Paint with Mark Hobson in Ireland

With Mark's family roots embedded in Irish soil, this Sept 8-18 trip is a fabulous chance to travel, paint and obtain instruction as you travel to some of Mark's favourite haunts across Southern Ireland. On the journey you visit three separate locations for approximately three days each. After arrival in Dublin airport you drive down to Kiltegan in Co. Wiclow to a gorgeous farm and B&B that has been in the Hobson family for several generations. Once jet lag is behind you and you have had a few dabbles with paint you will then drive across the country by rented bus to Co. Clare to the town of Lisdoonvarna famous for its richness in Irish Traditional music. Here you will be guests of Chris O'Neil and stay at his family's O'Neil Art Centre. Art supplies, work space and some meals are available at the centre as well as views of the unique limestone landscape known as the Burren. The final painting destination is the Aran Islands off the rugged west coast which you will get to by ferry from the town of Doolin. You will stay in a bed and breakfast on Inishmore Island where subject matter abounds as the cloud patterns race across the landscape from the open Atlantic.

Most instruction will be in watercolour but artists in other media are most welcome. Participants should be prepared to work out of doors when the weather allows.

Please contact Josephine Kovacs at 1-888-280-6890 to reserve a space on the trip and for further info on costs etc.
