Mike Hughes Wins AFC Peoples Choice Award

We are pleased to announce that the winner of AFC's first 'People's Choice' award, worth $500, is going to Mike Hughes of Great Britain, for 'In the Shade of an Olive' - a pencil portrayal of a pair of Hoopoes. Our first runner-up was Billy-Jack Milligan for his painting 'Maternal Pride' and second runner-up was Julia Hargreaves for her painting 'Peonies & Chickadee'. Congratulations to Mike and our runners-up!

The People's Choice Award is given to an exhibiting artist in The Art of Conservation exhibit, whose artwork receives the most votes by registered visitors to the AFC virtual exhibition.

The 3rd annual "Art of Conservation" exhibit, along with voting for the People's Choice award recently closed after three months of exhibiting online,. An archive of the virtual exhibit remains available for visitors to view but the voting for this award as well as the purchase of individual art works is no longer available online.

Details about the winning artwork, including a larger image of the winning work can be viewed on the exhibit archive.
