Michelle Mara's Northern trip of Inspiration

Michelle Mara has recently returned from another trip through northern wilderness regions. As in previous field study excursions, she recorded numerous observations of birds and mammals, and photographed mountains, forests, tundra and lakes from which future paintings will be composed. These paintings will be part of an on-going collection titled "Song of the Wild North", and new additions to the collection this year
will include scenes of caribou, moose, mountain goats, and several species of owls and waterfowl.

Earlier in her career, during the mid-1990's, Michelle's first series of 35 northern subjects titled "Visions of the Northern Wilderness" was exhibited in a highly successful one-person show at the Wolves & WddemesLG@llery in Estes Park, Colorado. Since then she has continued to produce collections of paintings which capture the vast magnificence of the north country, and the beauty, delight and vibrant life of the animals.

Many of the paintings in the new collection will be featured on this Web site, and will also eventually be published in a book.
