Mathios Work on Texas Non-Game Stamp

Peter has designed the upcoming Texas Non-Game Stamp .A pair of cedar waxwings by wildlife artist Peter Mathios will grace the 2010-2011 Texas Non-Game Stamp. Monies from the sale of the stamp will benefit non-game species in the state of Texas. Mathios who is from the state of Oregon was selected by Collector's Covey Gallery in Dallas Texas who runs the program in coordination with the state fish and game department.

Cedar Waxwings are gregarious birds that flock together to feed on berries. They have been known to wipe out an entire berry tree in 15 minutes. They will even flock together to feed while they are nesting. Their high-pitched delicate calls make them easily identifiable.
