Joan Sharrock's tigers featured in the Exxon calendar

The 2002 Exxon calendar features images of tigers supplied by Vancouver artist Joan Sharrock who specializes in paintings of big cats. This is the third calendar for Exxon featuring Joan's artwork. Previously the calendar, produced by Teldon Calendars, was made up of tiger photographs. A fortuitous connection in 1998 brought Joan's artwork to the calendar company's attention and her many tiger paintings were sufficient for the 1999 and 2001 calendars.
However for the 2002 calendar the artist did a series of watercolour-pencil drawings:

"Some day I would like to do major oil paintings based on these miniatures," the artist says, "but in the mean time it is very satisfying to see finished results from ideas and sketches that I have had for years - just waiting to be painted."
The 2002 calendar has a wide variety of tiger situations and settings from the tranquil to the dramatic. Distribution of the calendar will be to Exxon dealers and their customers only - it will not be for sale in retail stores. However the artist had a limited number available. All the 2002 calendar tiger images can be found on the artist's website at
