Godin has Double Win at World Carving Championships

WWNA group member Patrick Godin made an extraordinary coup at the Ward's World Championship carving competition in Ocean City Marryland. His two entries in World Class competition this year comprised: for The World Shootin' Rig , a pair of Black Ducks
with a Black Duck-Mallard Drake Hybrid. This was judged Best in World in this category. In the Miniature category he entered a 1/3 scale Spruce Grouse titled "Spruce Grouse on the North River". The base was sculpted from a solid piece of Black Walnut and the top surface was painted with acrylics. The bird was carved from one piece of tupelo. This piece was also judged Best in World.

The last time a carver won in
two World Championship categories in one year was John Scheeler in 1972.

Congratulations to Pat!
