June 12, 2012 - Good Life Connoisseur Magazine - Summer 2012 - "Art in Action for Nature. World's Top Conservation-Themed Exhibit and Sale Returns to Vancouver's North Shore" - This October, Vancouver-based Artists for Conservation, a local nonprofit organization, is returning to the top of Grouse Mountain for the 2nd Annual Artists for Conservation Festival, which is being held from Saturday, October 13 through to Sunday, October 21. Founded in 1997, AFC is the world's top artist group supporting the environment, with a mission to support wildlife conservation and environmental education through art that celebrates our natural world. The 10-day event will bring out leading nature and wildlife artists from around the world, immersing visitors in art and nature through youth education and adult workshops, film, and a world class art show and sale. Jan 14, 2012 - On January 14th, the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum (ASDM) will officially host AFC's touring exhibit comprising most of the artwork from the live exhibit at Grouse Mountain, in November, 2011. Nearly 70 artworks will go on display to the public through March 11, 2012. A special opening reception is planned on January 14, which will include a special screening of AFC's first documenary film - "How an Artist Saved the Mountain Gorilla". Read more

Nov 16, 2011 - BYM Marine Environment News - AFC honors marine artist Guy Harvey with 2011 Conservation Award. In a long career filled with many accomplishments in the areas of marine art, science, conservation and business, one of Dr. Guy Harvey¹s finest moments came recently when fellow artists honored him with the prestigious Artists for Conservation (AFC) Simon Combes Conservation Award. The presentation was part of a week long AFC festival gala, held November 4-13 at Grouse Mountain Resort in North Vancouver,  In winning the 2011 award, Dr. Harvey, who holds a Ph.D in marine biology, joins the ranks of David Shepherd and Robert Bateman, the first recipient of the Simon Combes Conservation award, who was on hand as the event¹s keynote speaker and featured artist. Read more 

Nov 12, 2011 - AFC 2011 "Art of Conservation" Virtual-Exhibit Now Open.AFC's Annual Exhibit - The Art of Conservation - has become one of the most highly anticipated events among the nature-inspired art genres. With the close of the 2011 AFC Festival and live exhibit last Sunday, November 13, at Grouse Mountain, Vancouver, the entire collection of artwork is now available for viewing online in order to provide global access to some of the best works the nature-inspired art genre has to offer. Nov 9, 2011 - North Shore News - Bright Lights: Artists for Conservation Festival Gala -he Artists For Conservation Festival 2011 kicked off its 10-day-long run at the top of Grouse Mountain with a festival gala on the evening of Friday, Nov. 4. Keynote speaker, world-renowned artist Robert Bateman, was on hand to unveil his most recent painting while Coleen Christie, MC and CTV news anchor, hosted the evening. A preview of 70 original works of art that will be on sale over the 10-day opening of the "The Art of Conservation Exhibit," as well as live entertainment and silent auction, were all part of the event. Nov 9, 2011 - North Shore Outlook - Conservation-themed art show at high altitude - After years hosting exhibits in such art meccas as New York City, the Artists for Conservation charity is hosting its first festival on Grouse Mountain. The 10-day event, dubbed the Artists for Conservation Festival, features a host of attractions for visitors including a lecture series, workshops and a 73-piece exhibit featuring artists from around the world, all of which focus on some facet of wildlife and habitat conservation.  North Shore Outlook article interview with Jeff Whiting, President & Founder. Sept 13, 2011 - Announcing Coleen Christie as Emcee for AFC Festival Gala November 4 at Grouse Mountain. Coleen Christie is the anchor of CTV News at Five and CTV News: Digital Edition (British Columbia). Since 1997, Coleen has reported on everything from community issues to major entertainment events. She cut her teeth anchoring the station's morning show. Since then, she has hosted three cycles of CTV's former national weekend morning show, Good Morning Canada, and fills in as host on CTV's Canada AM. Read more
