2016 AFC Award Winners and Exhibiting Artists

Vancouver, BC., CANADA – July 11, 2016 - Artists for Conservation (AFC) is proud to announce the list of 2016 exhibiting artists accepted into the Artists for Conservation Exhibit - the world's top conservation-themed exhibit and sale, benefitting the conservation cause. This is AFC's 9th annual exhibit of members' artworks and fifth annual exhibit to open in Vancouver, BC. The exhibit officially opens on September 29, 2016, at Grouse Mountain Resort in North Vancouver, BC.

Guy Coheleach to Receive AFC's Highest Honor

Vancouver, BC CANADA - July 10, 2016 - This September, internationally acclaimed artist Guy Coheleach will be recognized for his lifetime of conservation support, with Artists for Conservation’s (AFC) top honor: the Simon Combes Conservation Artist Award.  AFC bestows this tribute annually to recognize artist members for their dedication to the conservation cause and outstanding artistic achievement.

AFC Announces Partnership with International Ornithological Congress 2018

AFC is pleased to announce a new partnership with one of the world's oldest and most important global organizations dedicated to bird studies - the 27th International Ornithological Congress (IOCongress2018) in Vancouver, Canada. Under the arrangement, AFC becomes the Congress' lead Partner for the Visual Arts. AFC's 2018 Festival and exhibit premiere will coincide with the  late August event.

Gary Hodges Charity Auction Expected to Raise over $230,000 for Wildlife

A star studded private gala night on 18th April will kick off this week long exhibition in the heart of London, just up the road from Buckingham Palace. Gary Hodges AFC has deliberately kept back a few of his rare sold-out editions for this show. Over 160 of his amazing drawings, including originals, limited edition prints and embellished prints will be on sale and for auction.

Gary has just launched a special auction page on his website: garyhodges-wildlife-art.com/auction so that anyone throughout the world can place bids and help elephants and other wildlife.

Fiorentino's Art Honored in New Jersey

New Jersey artist and AFC Signature Member, James Fiorentino was recently honored when his watercolor painting depicting the Black Swallowtail was chosen to represent the State as the official artwork of the new State butterfly.

Aja Sculpture Raises funds for Elephants

AFC Signature Member, Douglas Aja recently donated one of his bronze sculpture (Orphans) recently raised $3,800 for The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (DSWT). The bronze was auctioned at a fund raising event hosted at London's Landmark Hotel. The piece raised $3,800 for DSWT.

A Close Look: A painting trip in Etosha, National Park, Namibia

 

AFC Signature artist Francisco Hernandez shares a poetic description of his first experience travelling to Africa as an artist to observe the rich multitude of wildlife.

My first contact with Etosha was at the Okaukuejo waterhole, shortly after sunset and I can describe my first feelings with one only word. Brutal.

America's Oldest Sculpture Garden Honors Leo Osborne

AFC sculptor Leo Osborne was recently honored with the acceptance of his life-sized Whistling Saint Francis into Brookgreen Gardens famed outdoor sculpture garden in Pawley, South Carolina . A major acquisition fundraising campaign is underway to see the honor to fruition.
