Jeffrey Whiting The Focus of Special Museum Exhibit

Jeffrey Whiting, the founder and operator of the World Wide Nature Artists Group, was honoured in a special exhibit at the Eastern Ontario Biodiversity Museum in Kemptville, Ontario just outside Ottawa. The focus is the artwork created especially for Whiting's book "Owls of North America" which provides detailed paintings of all nineteen species of owls found in North America. The large format, hardcover book, published in 1997 by The Heliconia Press Inc., is an acclaimed reference book for birders, artists and anyone interested in Owls.

Godin has Double Win at World Carving Championships

WWNA group member Patrick Godin made an extraordinary coup at the Ward's World Championship carving competition in Ocean City Marryland. His two entries in World Class competition this year comprised: for The World Shootin' Rig , a pair of Black Ducks

Moose in the City special arts event draws to an end in Toronto

One of our WWNA Group members, Charles Weiss, had his artwork auctioned on eBay for $11000 at the conclusion of the Moose in the City special event in Toronto, Canada. Pictured is his lavishly decorated moose.

Society of Animal Artists elects new President, Francis Sweet

The Society of Animal Artists, at their January board meeting in New York City, elected Francis Edward Sweet of Bowie, Maryland, as their President. Mr. Sweet, a WWNAG member and renouned wildlife and animal artist, who served on the board of directors of the organization for the past two years, was unanimously named their President. Francis succeeds long-standing WWNAG member Charles Allmond.

New book on en Plein Air painting by Deborah Chapin

Recent new member of the WWNAG, Deborah Chapin, has just published a 77 page full-color, hand-bound, soft-cover book entitled: "Capturing Life and Movement en Plein Air".

This book is not only a useful tool for artists of all capabilities but collectors as well. Written from an insider's perspective many of the mysteries of plein air painting are revealed and can be used to understand what you see. The book highlights her thoughts on the subject that have been accumulated over 20 years of painting on site.

WWNA artist Rudy Miller honored by NAPA

WWNA member Rudy Miller was recently awarded a signature membership in the National Acrylic Painters Association. Sandra Carpenter, Editor of the Artist's Magazine, was juror.
