Karen Laurence-Rowe to Receive AFC's Highest Honor
2015/08/11 - Vancouver, BC CANADA - Aug 10, 2015 - Internationally recognized Kenyan artist Karen Laurence-Rowe has been chosen to receive the Artists for Conservation’s (AFC) top honor: the Simon Combes Conservation Artist Award.  AFC bestows this tribute annually to recognize artist members for their dedication to the conservation cause and outstanding artistic achievement.

Becci Crowe’s Journey to the Congo with Dr. Jane Goodall
2015/08/04 - Dr. Jane Goodall, the Republic of Congo, a place called Tchimpounga and orphan chimpanzees... I've just experienced it all and returned with a new understanding of the gravity of challenges to this wild place and the animals struggling to survive. As an artist active in conservation it's as important for me to be in the field as it is in my studio. Observing wildlife in the wild and bearing witness to their challenges not only inspires the art I create but enables me to tell the story through my presentations as well as my images.

2015/07/30 - Vancouver, BC CANADA - July 9, 2015 - Artists for Conservation is pleased to announce that Signature AFC Member, Vickie McMillan's painting "Life, Love and Community" depicting a herd of African elephants, has been selected for the cover of the 2016 AFC Environmental Calendar. In addition to highlighting statutory and religious holidays, the calendar also uniquely highlights a wide range of international environmental-themed days and weeks.

In the Field Series: Alison Nicholls Part 2
2015/07/14 - In 2007, Alison Nicholls spent 6 weeks with the Painted Dog Conservation project in Zimbabwe, tracking and sketching highly endangered African wild dogs during her Artists For Conservation Flag Expedition. 2015/07/11 - Vancouver, BC CANADA - Aug July 10, 2015 - Artists for Conservation is pleased to announce that acclaimed Floridian watercolorist Morton Solberg's "His Domain" painting depicting a landscape and herd of Elk, has been selected for the cover of the 2015 Artists for Conservation exhibit book. The annual hardcover "coffee-table" book is published on sustainably forested paper, as a companion to the 8th annual AFC Exhibit, showing in Vancouver and North Vancouver, BC running September 10 thorough to 30th. The image will be on display in AFC's virtual online exhibit this fall.
Canada's Brent Cooke Appointed 2015 Festival Patron
2015/07/06 - Vancouver, B.C. CANADA - July 6, 2015 - Brent Cooke, international award-winning bronze sculptor is supporting the 2015 AFC Festival as the official Festival Artist Patron. The 3-week event will bring out leading nature and wildlife artists from around the world, immersing visitors in art and nature through workshops, film, and a world's top conservation-themed art exhibit of 80 original paintings and sculptures. All artwork sales benefit conservation. Brent follows Pollyanna Pickering and Robert Bateman, who assumed the role for the first three years of the Festival.
2015 AFC Exhibiting Artists Announced
2015/07/03 - Vancouver, BC., CANADA – July 3, 2015 - Artists for Conservation (AFC) is proud to announce the list of 2015 exhibiting artists accepted into the Artists for Conservation Exhibit - the world's top conservation-themed exhibit and sale, benefitting the conservation cause. This is AFC's 8th annual exhibit of members' artworks and third annual exhibit to open in Vancouver, BC. The exhibit officially opens on September 11, 2015, following a special fundraiser gala and awards evening at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel in downtown Vancouver.
