Daniel Davis

Dan Davis' dream of becoming an artist was sparked over 20 years ago while serving in the Peace Corps of the Mosquito Coast in Honduras. Years later, Dan was presented with the opportunity to teach in Guatemala City. After teaching for 14 years, he finally plunged himself into his true calling and began dedicating himself entirely to painting. Tragically, at this same time his wife and partner of 14 years Margie, developed paranoid schizophrenia and after a two year struggle to find help she took her own life and that of their dog Coco. He now lives in Maryland with Cho, his macaw, helping care for his father, who was recently widowed around the same time. Dan is traveling to Colombia to photograph and paint birds this month, in hopes that he might find the inspiration that he once did in the natural beauty the surrounds us.
