Karstad Partners with Nature Conservancy of Canada

Aleta Karstad and biologist husband will partner with the Nature Conservancy of Canada in a pilot project of Landscape Art & Science on two of its properties this spring and summer.

Brenda Johnson's "Caribean Cruiser" an Award Winner

Brenda D. Johnson received the "Excellence Award” given in recognition of exceptional artistic merit for her original painting, “Caribbean Cruiser" at the  Annual Nature Works Fine Art Exhibition and Sale at Renaissance Tulsa Hotel & Convention Center March 5th & 6th. 

Dumas wins "Masterworks" Twice in a Row

Michael Dumas' history of participation in the Masterworks in Miniature show has seen him win the Best of Show by People's Choice 3 times out of the 5 times he has participated. 2005 saw his first winning piece, 'Played Out', a portrait of a tired lion cub observed on the Chobe River in Botswana. His painting of 'Gypsy' won this same award in 2009, and in 2010 his wins went back to back with 'Curious' - Tiger Cub in 2011. This Year's entry depicts two house sparrows perched on a pile of discarded flour sacks.

AFC Awards of Excellence Announced

Each year the Artists for Conservation Foundation awards five AFC -Medals of Exc

Each year the Artists for Conservation Foundation awards AFC "Medals of Excellence" to artists for their artworks in the Annual Art of Conservation, an international exhibit of nature in art.  pastel painting,  -Where's Waldo?-, depicting 12 Galapagos marine iguanas and a small ground finch by Kelly Dodge, pictured here, was one of the works singled out for special recognition from among over 400 art submissions for the prestigious 2010 AFC Virtual Exhibition.
