In summer tourists head towards these hills, to enjoy the cool beauty of tea estates surrounded by rainforests. Lion Tailed Macaques, Leopards, wild dogs, elephants, sambar deer, and gaur move freely around in the estates.

Centre for Wildlife Studies (CWS), Bangalore, India, in association with Trust for Environmental Education (TREE) has produced a scientific training video titled "Monitoring Tigers and their Prey: The Right Way". This video is a 48-minutes companion video guide to the acclaimed scientific book 'Monitoring Tigers and their Prey' (2002) that Dr. K. Ullas Karanth co-edited with Dr James D. Nichols.
