The world's top conservation-themed art exhibit is returning to South Florida with two showings by internationally recognized and accomplished painters and sculptors in the nature art genre.

African Wildlife Trust to Host International Artists Retreat To Combat Poaching

African Wildlife Trust, in conjunction with Safari Legacy, will host an international group of artists retreat from October 22-November 2, 2013 in Tarangire National Park, Tanzania.

This retreat aims to raise awareness and funds to combat the international poaching crisis, particularly in hard-hit Tanzania, where tens of thousands of elephants are slaughtered annually.

Karstad Partners with Nature Conservancy of Canada

Aleta Karstad and biologist husband will partner with the Nature Conservancy of Canada in a pilot project of Landscape Art & Science on two of its properties this spring and summer.

Windows on Evolution, Science -Art -Nature 3rd Virtual Exhibit

The work of 40 artists allows viewers to peer into the process of evolution. Read the image captions, check the exhibit commentaries, see which of these examples of Science Art won an award, hear some music with lyrics based on Darwin's words, and leave your reactions.

AFC's Gregory Wellman to lead Art Safaris in Tanzania

AFC member Gregory Wellman from the UK is running art safaris to Northern Tanzania for wildlife artists. Following years of involvement with his partner’s charity organization in the Kilimanjaro & Ngorongoro Crater area, Gregory has partnered with a successful and long established tour operator there, Nordic Travel, to help artists take their wildlife art to a new level.

Exhibition Opens June 6 in New York

Universally acknowledged as the first and still finest artist ever to paint the world's apex game fish, Stanley Meltzoff was born in Brooklyn and went on to to artistic triumphs in a variety of genres. Meltzoff was a Signature member of AFC until his death in 2006 During WWII, he served as correspondent for THE STARS AND STRIPES army newspaper alongside the legendary cartoonist Bill Mauldin. Thereafter he enjoyed success as a commercial artist and illustrator, ornamenting such magazine covers as The Atlantic, The Saturday Evening Post, and Scientific American, among many others.

With two of Griffiths' paintings selected for the finals of the BBC wildlife artist of the year including these Spix Macaws and the other, a Kingfisher, was voted the winner of 'Animals in their enviroment (UK and worldwide)

There were 1300 enteries worldwide, 100 finalists and 13 winners. The winners were published in a special edition of the BBC wildlife magazine in August and exhibited at a special show at Marwel zoo, UK at the end of August.
